Admission Requirements

As a rule, all applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in an art-related field. Applicants with non-art-related degrees may apply, but must demonstrate to the admission committee that they possess the necessary aptitude and motivation for work in the creative sector.

Admission to the programme is a two-stage process—a written application and a personal interview. Only applicants who pass the first stage may take part in the second. The written application comprises a filled-out application form (available as download below) along with the following materials:

  • Copy of undergraduate diploma.
  • Proof of the level of German language (TDN 3)
  • Resume, including a description of undergraduate course of studies, relevant practical experience (especially in the creative sector) as well as art and art-related activities.
  • A statement of purpose. Statements of purpose may be no longer than 2,500 characters and must be written in German.
  • An essay on one of the three topics provided in the current application form. Essays may be no longer than 15,000 characters and must be written in German.
